Greetings!
Camden Photo Club
July 18, 2011 Meeting Minutes
This was our first meeting at Mike's training facility and it worked out very well. We had 10 members present - a very good turnout for summertime.
Guest Speaker. We were delighted to have Nikki Livermore, from Aiken, as our guest speaker. She covered a range of subjects including photographing action horse shots and smaller animals, various editing options, effective cropping, awareness of reflections when shooting water shots and shadows for other subjects, and shooting from different perspectives such as looking up and looking behind you. Her work may be viewed on her website - nicolelivermore.com.
Member's Photos. The subject for this month was Weather. Several interesting photographs were submitted and discussed.
Special Editing Project. Mike sent everyone a photograph to be edited by each member. The results were fascinating and very clever. We will be doing this again in the future.
Handouts. Teri provided a handout from the last workshop she attended. Members were encouraged to do the same and we would share the cost of having them copied.
Coming Events for August
Walk-About. Professional photographer, Lonnie Hoke, has graciously agreed to host a "walk-about" in his studio on Monday, AUGUST 1st, at 7:00pm. The address is 1443 A Highway 1 South, Lugoff SC. (The studio is on the left past Lugoff Elgin High School)
August Meeting. The meeting will be on Monday, August 15th, at 7:00pm. Location will be Mike's training facility.
August Member Photo. The subject for August is Reflections. Please send only ONE picture for this category and ONE picture for your Random category. For those of you who know how to rename your photos from the number to a chosen name, please do so. Example: Random-Last Name-August or Reflections-Last Name-August. For those who do not know how to do this, send them as you have been and Mike will give a demonstration on how to do it by renaming the photo.
Subjects for September thru December. Members are asked to view these following ideas for our future subject matter and we will vote on them.
