June 20, 2011 Meeting
Meeting Minutes
Thanks to all who attended. We had 13 members present, plus a prospective new member, Robbie Hinson. Robbie is an accomplished photographer and specializes in black and white photography.
Financial Report: To date, 16 members have paid their dues. Our current balance is $375.50.
Displaying Photographs in the Fine Arts Center. The photo club sign has been made and will be hung soon. Members are encouraged to hang their photographs - 2 each, 8x10 - can be matted and framed.
Walk-Abouts. Due to the extreme heat, there will be no scheduled walk-abouts in July or August. Members are encouraged to contact each other if they would like to do anything on their own in small groups.
Speakers. We again talked briefly about inviting professional photographers to speak at our meetings. Mike has not had much luck with some of the local photographers - he will contact Lonnie Hoke in Lugoff.
Members' Photos. This month's subject was Macro. A variety of interesting subjects were presented that included both macro and close-up work.
General Discussion. There was a lot of interaction between the members discussing individual problems with cameras, printing, different types of lenses, etc.
NEXT MEETING
Next Meeting. The next meeting will be back at The Garden Gate Gallery, on July 18th, at 7:00pm.
Next Month's Photo Subject. The subject for July is Weather. Be sure to put your last name, July, and the category - random or weather, in the subject line. Photos must be in JPEG format. In addition to the monthly photo assignment, Mike will send everyone a photograph that we will each edit in whatever way we chose. It should be very interesting to see the different artistic approaches each member applies to the photograph. After you have finished editing the photograph, send it back to Mike in JPEG format. Be sure to put your last name and July Edited Photo in the subject line.
Guest Speaker will be professional photographer
Lonnie Hoke !
Make sure to check his superb work at

I will be sending the image to edit this evening.
Thank you,
Mike
